It's only deprecated on FSO which has a replacement, ogpsd, which
implements the gypsy protocol plus power control using dbus. Fso-gpsd
provides a gpsd-compatible interface to this for apps that expect gpsd.
This combination should work with apps using either gsmd or dbus,
powering up the GPS if an app is connected and switching it off again
when the last app disconnects, and look after almanac and ephemeris for
faster cold starts.
