SHR - ppp-generic (GPRS) buggy?

Just verified that removing the ppp-generic module resolves a lot of
the issues for making the phone a usable phone.

Can anyone else confirm?

To enable GPRS
   echo ppp-generic > /etc/modutils/ppp-generic
   update-modules
   modprobe ppp_generic
