GPS stopped working, can't figure it out... what else?

Yeah, I should have specified that I have have seen this as advice numerous
other times on the list and it "works" fine (i.e.  I see no errors, but I
don't necessarily know what I'm looking for).  What exactly is this supposed
to tell me?  Timo, you had said previously (3-MAY-2010) that if this works,
"we can rule out kernel bugs." Where's the next place to check?
