I just verified this on my gta01bv3.
With
http://buildhost.openmoko.org/tmp/deploy/images/uImage-2.6-moko8-r0_0_0_1331_0-fic-gta01.bin
when issuing apm --suspend the Display turns off and resume works.

On
http://buildhost.openmoko.org/tmp/deploy/images/uImage-2.6-moko8-r1_0_0_1637_0-fic-gta01.bin
apm --suspend just results in a white display and the device does not seem to
resume correctly.
