My dream device

Much has been written about what people would like to see changed in Neo1973
so this isn't yet another "gimme BT" "gimme WiFi" post but instead something
further out if you want.

I'll start, and encourage others to join me, describing my dream mobile
hardware (since we're talking about open platforms, the software is always
fixable ;):

Basically, start with the HTC Hermes hardware:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
which has a sideways slide out backlit keyboard (look at the picture if you've
never seen it).

Quote from the above page:

Samsung SC32442A-400MHz stacked CPU
Microsoft® Windows Mobile® 5.0 with Messaging and Security Feature Pack
GSM 850/900/1800/1900, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS(3G), HSDPA(3.5G)
WiFi: 802.11g (backward compatible with Wi-Fi "b")
MicroSD
IrDA
2.0 megapixel camera
VGA secondary camera for videoconferencing
128MB flash ROM and 64MB RAM
2.8-inch QVGA (240x320) display
Bluetooth 2.0 with AKU2.3/A2DP and MSFP push-email
QVGA screen (flips automatically to landscape mode when opened) 320 x 240 ,
65k colour
Built-in single loudspeaker
Stereo output for headphones (via USB type proprietary headset - not the usual
2.5ø jack)
Internal antennae
1350mAh battery (4-5 hours talk)
real wheel not simply a jog dial

The hardware is fine as it is save for replacing the screen with a VGA one and
bumping RAM to 128MB and of course having it run OpenMoko ;). Winmobile is a
truly sorry OS to have on a phone....

That is the currently feasible device.

As for the truly far out one, i.e. the true dream device, that's mostly
similar but comes with an ever higher resolution screen (something like Nokia
770 maybe), 256+ MB RAM, a CPU fast enough to run a somewhat slimmed down KDE
on it ;) and camera with optical zoom as well as VGA 30fps video recording.
More pluspoints for some hinge mechanism that makes it possible to bend the
slide out keyboard upwards to get some sort of tiny laptop that can stand on
its own ;).
