Location Instant Messaging

There seems to be some encryption tunnel-vision. Here's a
not-so-original idea. I could imagine a buddy list (just like or
integrated with) an instant messaging program with whom one shares his
location at all times. "Oh, Alice and Bob are at the pub next door!
Maybe I should invite them over. Eve seems to be on her way here,
maybe we should go next door instead and set our location to
Antartica."
