The $60 equivalent includes "tethering" which lets you use your
PDA/Smartphone (like my Blackjack 2) as a USB modem to connect some
other data device like a laptop. It would be inapplicable in this case,
as the Neo/Freerunner will behave on its own as a PDA/Smartphone, and
AT&T will gladly sell you just the Media Net Unlimited plan for a
Smartphone without requiring the tethering option.
I had to ask explicitly three times with three reps back in December to
GET the tethering option turned on for my Blackjack 2 so I could use my
laptop wherever I went. Once the Freerunner is released, I might scale
back on the tethering since between my Blackjack 2 on AT&T, Freerunner
on TMobile, and now a Blackberry on Verizon, I'm pretty much covered,
much to my wife's chagrin.
