Thanks, Mike.  Your modified gtkrc worked perfectly for me.  tangogps
looks *much* better now.  However, putting it in ~/.gtkrc-2.0 didn't
seem to work for me so I just moved
/usr/share/themes/Moko/gtk-2.0/gtkrc to
/usr/share/themes/Moko/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.orig and pasted yours in.
