Yeah.  Icon issue should be fixed with today's kernel.

Not sure what the charging aspect of it is.  AFAIK on 2008.08 the red
LED should be lit during charging action, go out if you pull the USB
cable, etc.  If the red light says it charges but

# cat /sys/devices/platform/bq27000-battery.0/power_supply/bat/current_now

isn't a negative number a few seconds afterwards then I would really
like to hear about that and any tips to reproduce it.

Also the bad U-Boot we put out for a while with 50% chance to have
broken USB for the session will cause the symptoms described: host PC
won't be able to enumerate the Freerunner to tell it that it can pull
500mA OK.  So updating U-Boot if it is more than a week or so old won't
hurt.
