Problems mounting microSD card in Debian

I have Debian running in Flash on my Freerunner
(http://wiki.debian.org/DebianOnFreeRunner/MovingToFlash) and it works
great.  However, my microSD card is not being detected.  I receive the
following message during bootup:

> mmc0: error -22 whilst initialising MMC card

and /dev/mmcblk0p1 is not created.  Has anyone run into this problem?
Any ideas for a workaround?
