I find it much easier to read a conversation when the reply is below
original message.

Its hard enough wading through 300 emails a day without having to page

Gmail does a pretty good job of hiding the quoted message, so you may want
to consider changing your email client. It also helps when people strip the
unnecessary text from messages (e.g. signatures). It's also considerate to
refrain from including your favorite quotation at the bottom of each
message.
