You either leave ID open or tie it to 0V to signal depending on if you
are a host or device cable.  Not sure which way around is which.

We do have 47K to 0V on ID for charger, but it isn't actually the
standard, which came out after it was too late for us.  Chargers are
meant to tie D+ and D- lines together to show they are a charger.
