Thanks for the reply.
I think I just got used to flawless updates of the testing branch until now.
From my personal point of view, updating only selected packages isn't exactly the right thing to do because of the dependencies that exist but are not described in the package (most notably GNOME being packed that way on my testing desktop distro).

The other reason I wrote this post was to inform the package maintainers that something went wrong and the "Home" app doesn't see the .desktop files or something during the update destroyed them.
