Are you talking about raster's keyboard? I use it on terminal mode the
majority of the time.

If you talk about Qtopia keyboard, you have to install another keyboard
and "Add the line export QTOPIA_NO_VIRTUAL_KEYBOARD=1 into the file
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/89qtopia" or "...80Qtopia", I don't remember.
