problem with microsd

I can create the node

root at om-gta02:~# mknod /dev/mmcblk0p1 b 179 1
root at om-gta02:~# mount /media/card/
mount: /dev/mmcblk0p1 is not a valid block device

but cannot mount.
Btw if i use fdisk and "change id of the partition" selecting "83 linux"
and writing to disk, after sync I have the device ready and I can mount
it... so why it's not mounted on boot?
