FSO: No sound through headphones?

Hi,

I'm writing an application that uses libasound (alsa) for sound output...
My current problem (there always is a new one, it seems..) is that I can't
get the sound through my headphones! The sound always comes
through the built-in speakers.. Why is it like that? I use the "default"
ALSA device, should I have to think about such things, i.e. no automatic
switching between headphones and speakers? (I recall it was automatic
in the 2007.2 release..)
