Bluetooth (bluez4) and bluetooth serial port

I got till here:
root at om-gta02 ~/tmp $ rfcomm
rfcomm0: <laptop mac> 7 channel 1 clean
root at om-gta02 ~/tmp $ cat /dev/rfcomm0
cat: can't open '/dev/rfcomm0': No route to host
But why I am getting no route to host.Also I think /dev/rfcomm0 is the file
where the bluetooth data is written or read.
Any suggestions.
