Phone functionality in GUI applications

How about integrating this with the home (today) application? I think
it fits there better since that application already has an X
connection, is always on and already takes some system management
responsibilities (such as task switching etc.). Also, if somebody
wants to replace home with something else, it is very conceivable that
the call handling will have to be somewhat different as well.
