You should find any recent distribution workable - I use ubuntu, but I'm 
sure there's a range of distros in use. Fedora Electronic Lab [1] comes 
with a few useful tools installed by default - though you'd still need 
to install the main ones (KiCAD & fped) from svn to get the latest 
version including gta02-core patches.
