If you branch, I'd recommend doing

cd <branchname>/packages
mkdir unsupported
mtn -e mv <opie, gpe, etc> unsupported/
mtn commit .

That will move stuff you don't use out of the wait (faster parsing!), but propagates from
.dev will do the right thing since monotone tracks renames.

The effort needed to set it up will repay itself in the end, just look at Poky.
