boot time reduction - early PIN request

Hi,
you recently had a discussion on this list to reduce the boot time and I
have a suggestion for this:

If possible the phone should ask for my GSM pin number (if SIM card is
in) while running the initialization scripts in the background and
(perhaps) should not let me into X before the number has not been entered.

Of course this does not really shorten the boot time but at least I (or
the user) has something to do while it starts and this reduces the
perceived waiting time.

Just me 0.02€ cents. :)
