no problem.  I'm sorry to not have had this information in the public
wiki for considerable time.

btw: when making guesses about the hardware,
http://svn.openmoko.org/trunk/doc/hardware/*/gpio.txt is always of help.

I think there is no clean solution for this. our engineers are working
on a identification procedure (probably will involve some probing) to
find that out.

technically that is very easy.  legally, we're trying to sort this out
with Ti for at least the last five months, to no avail.  We'll continue
to work on it - with unclear outcome.

However, 

1) phase-0 device owners will get new GTA01Bv4 units at some point in
   august anyway (hardware fix)

2) Any paid / under NDA member of openmoko has access to those tools and
   GSM firmware images.  Thus, if you meet us at some event (e.g. the
   chaos camp roughly two weeks from now) we can do the upgrade for you.
