DFU mode

To get a list of interfaces (altsettings) via "dfu-util --list", I can do
some nonsensical upload to RAM (e.g. "dfu-util -U test") to make the
necessary switch from Runtime mode to DFU mode.

Is there a better method for just setting DFU mode in GTA02?
