I waited until dark, then tested it and got the following results:
- portrait mode: pressed on "+" and looked at what I got. It's nice
and stable. I can seen something resembling flicker when moving the
device or moving the eye, but that may also be an unrelated effect.
In any case, the image doesn't look deficient.
- landscape mode: I still see line flicker. Nothing like the horrors
we've had before, but something that's visible. That is, if I look
carefully and from nearby. If I put on my glasses (I'm near-sighted)
and hold the device at a distance where I can then see it without a
blur, I don't notice any flicker anymore.
I tried setting JBT_REG_ASW_SLEW to 0 and to 1, and the line flicker
didn't go away. So I'd say your solution is as good as it gets, and
it seems to be quite sufficient for real-life use.
Congratulations on fixing that bugger !
I've applied the ASW slew change to drivers/video/display/jbt6k74.c
and the comment change in arch/arm/mach-s3c2440/mach-gta02.c in
revision 4258.
Thanks,
- Werner
