Usb hostmode intentionally disabled, any plans to fix that?

Yes
For example before I attached a ftdi MiniUsb to Serial Converter I wrote:
host > /sys/devices/platform/s3c2410-ohci/usb_mode
1 > /sys/bus/platform/devices/neo1973-pm-host.0/hostmode
then I attached the device and it powered and got recognized by the Kernel.
Now I can only power it up but it is not recognized by the kernel.
