Yes I didn't commit that patch because I wondered if we find a new world
of previously very low probability problems are now more repeatable.

If we can figure out what is preempting SDI action long enough to make
the trouble, or if there is some larger problem that preparing and
sending the SDI packet is not atomic enough, we can maybe do something
about it.
