'power off' is 'power off from u-boot by issuiong 'neo1973 power-off'?
If yes, then it's a bug in our u-boot code, and it's not properly
deactivating the USB pull-up resistor. Thus the host thinks there's
still an alive USB device attached (whereas it should think that we've
been disconnected).

if those 'usb 3-1' lines start _after_ the backlight has been switched
off, it will not intefere but is still ugly.
