Monitor 3d accelerator usage

Hi, somebody could tell me how to monitor on a normal linux pc the 3d
accelerator usage needed by an application? Because I would to port a game
on openmoko but I want to know if it could be possible because the limited
bus speed (max 7m/s).
So how could I know the usage (in mb/s) of an apps on linux?
