Do you need it to explore directories or to edit files?
You can try the gpe-filemanager from
http://buildhost.automated.it/OM2007.2/packages/armv4t/gpe-filemanager_0.30-r0_armv4t.ipk
which is very nice. I just haven't figured out how to add apps in the "open
with..." dialog. 

Try 'vi' if you have to edit files.
