DBUS problems?

I recently ran opkg upgrade.  I'm using the unstable tree.  I no longer have any theme stuff in my GTK applications, and I've noticed that there are no DBUS environment variables in /proc/*/environ for settings-daemon (Which I believe has something to do with the theme stuff for GTK apps).. and in fact I can't find it anywhere.  DBUS variables don't even appear to be in the environment variable list on a shell running right on the phone.
