JFFS errors on boot

If I allow the Freerunner to boot normally, om2009 fails with a jffs
error do_read_inode or some open call. It looks just like a corrupt
image. However, if I boot into NOR and then select Boot, it boots up
fine with no errors. 

I flashed the image using dfu-util from SVN. I also flashed the Android
images and those boot up fine.

What does this indicate ?
